Nathan Baar, RN, MHA, is the Founder and CEO of HealthBar, a healthcare organization reimagining how primary and preventive care are accessed, delivered, and paid for.

Nathan began his career at the bedside as an emergency room nurse before advancing through clinical leadership and ultimately serving as Director of Emergency Services at University of Michigan Health-West. During his thirteen years inside the traditional healthcare system, he experienced healthcare from both sides of the curtain: as a clinician caring for patients and as a leader navigating the business, financial, and operational realities of a large health system.

Those experiences ultimately became the catalyst for HealthBar and Nathan’s belief that there is a better way to deliver healthcare.

Today, he is focused on building a model that puts relationships ahead of transactions, prevention ahead of reaction, and better health at the center of the incentive structure.

Through HealthBar and the broader vision of a parallel healthcare economy, Nathan is working to give individuals and businesses greater access, choice, transparency, and control over their healthcare.At his core, Nathan remains what he was when his career began: a nurse, a problem solver, and someone driven to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
